The new ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ trailer actually gives us hope for the series

We’ll admit, “were in” a liiiiiiittle worried about Star Trek: Discovery after Bryan Fuller exited the streak as showrunner and the premiere year was pushed from February to May, and then from May to … sometime this autumn .

But CBS launched the first full length trailer for the new streak at its upfront give on Wednesday, and while a good trailer doesn’t certainly signal a good final product, the footage was everything we expect Star Trek to be: action-packed, cinematic, stuffed with intriguing new immigrants, natures and technology, and, perhaps most importantly, hopeful .
