Schools may furnish students with a resource of academic acquaintance, but do they truly think they have what it takes to outsmart youths when it comes to social media?
The battle between educational institutions and social media’s been brewing for years, but the most recent attempt to prevent children from being disconcerted by their beloved mobiles? Straight-up laughable.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal , four populace academies in Madison, WisconsinEast High School, Wright and Cherokee Middle academies, and West High Schoolare going so far as to shut down Wi-Fi connectivity for popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and over 30 others in order to determine just how heavily student demeanor, points, and overall academy safety are impacted by personal internet usage.
“We are looking for ways to continually improve our academy climate and increase student discovering, ” Cindy Green, executive director of curriculum and regulation for the Madison School District told the Wisconsin State Journal . “One way to do that is by trying to reduce the use of cellphones and social apps during the school day.”

Apparently, theWisconsin academies have imagined this through, and they have a simple( but definitely not foolproof) solution.
Basically, they’re querying mothers to constitute an alliance.
School governors and quarter officials have reportedly asked mothers to assist them in the ambitious duty of restraint students’ in-school better access to apps. “If your student’s phone is on your data hope, you may wish to set data limits or curb them from accessing data during academy hours, ” Beth Thompson, principal of West High School sent home in an email to mothers on Friday, informing them of the pilot program.
